Gucci, the world’s largest fashion label, is the latest retailer to offer women’s sunglasses in their men’s collections, a move that could boost sales of its flagship products.
The company, which also sells sunglasses for women, is one of several companies that are starting to offer a range of eyewear for men in an attempt to keep up with trends in the industry.
Gucci glasses for women are now available in Men’s Men’s and Women’s range, while women’s Men & Women’s are also on offer, along with women’s shoes and sunglasses.
Women are increasingly seeking glasses for men and for men to wear at work, particularly at work in hot weather, in order to keep their eyes clear.
The trend for men’s glasses has seen growth in recent years, with men’s wearables increasing by 70% from 2012 to 2016.
Gucci has recently seen growth for women’s glasses, too, with sales of the glasses increasing by 20% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2016.
Women’s sunglasses have been one of the mainstays of Gucci’s line-up, but there have been a number of recent changes in the brand’s line to reflect the changing times.
In January, the brand announced a change to its packaging for men, where it has added a new logo to the centre of the product’s main window, which has since become synonymous with the brand.
Earlier this year, Gucci announced a new range for women which is a mix of men’s and women’s designs.
This is the first time that the new range will include women’s products, and comes as Gucci has been facing pressure from some of its rivals to change its approach to women’s fashion.
